Hi Fair Vote supporters. We are going to have a table at this event, too!
Whether it's just for a couple of hours or more depends on whether anyone would
like to help out by volunteering some time at the table (any time is
appreciated). Even if you can't help, it sounds like a neat event with
prominent lawyer Peter Rosenthal speaking about the G20. The event is free and
lunch is included! (See below)

A free, full-day conference about the criminalization of dissent around G20
activism – and creative ways to heal and move forward.

Policing and the criminalization of dissent around G20 activism has intensified
the challenges faced by community organizations and broader civil society
networks devoted to the cause of social justice. This day-long conference will
bring together activists, academics, students, and other members of the
community to address these challenges, particularly as they manifest themselves
in the Kitchener-Waterloo community. The event will include speakers, workshops
and roundtables on issues such as civil rights violations, community responses
to structural violence, silencing of political dissent within academic
institutions, the relationship between journalism and democracy, the need for
social healing and the task of social movement building in the post-G20
political landscape.
