Good Morning Fair Voting Friends,

Next week Frank Valeriote, Liberal MP for Guelph is hosting a town hall
meeting on electoral reform. The date is Thursday, October 17th @7pm at
Hope House, 75 Norfolk Street in Guelph.

It is an excellent opportunity to hear Brain Tanquay & Stephane Dion speak
on the proportional representation. Brian is the poly sci. professor at
Laurier who co-authored the Law Commission Report on electoral reform
called Voting Counts: Electoral Reform for Canada. Stephane Dion will speak
on his proposal for electoral reform: P3: A Better Voting System for Canada.

The Liberal Party has a policy convention early next year and it is vital
to convince the LPC to adopt some degree of PR in their electoral reform
policy. This is an excellent opportunity to send a message to the LPC of
the degree of interest in establishing a fair voting system for Canada.

Car pooling is available so if you need/want a ride please be in touch & we
can set something up.

And, just a quick reminder that FVC -WR is having a chapter planning
meeting the evening before on Wed. Oct 16th @ 7pm at Misty Mountain Coffee
Cafe, 33 Queen Street South in Kitchener.

Hope to see you soon!

Sharon Sommerville,
Co-Chair
FVC -WR
