<div><font size="2" face="Arial">Hey everyone! Just a reminder that tomorrow night (Thurs 24th) at 7 is the People's Summit on Democracy!! It's at the Laurier Social Work school auditorium, just behind Kitchener City Hall. Should be an interesting discussion
of the topics chosen by Fair Vote and CAPP members! Hope you can join us, and thank you for supporting Fair Vote Canada Waterloo.</font></div>

<div> </div>
<div><font size="2" face="Arial">Canadians Advocating Political Participation Waterloo and Fair Vote Canada Waterloo are teaming up to host "The People's Summit on Democracy", Thursday November 24, 7 PM, at the Lyle S. Hallman School of Social Work, 120 Duke
Street West in Kitchener. </font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="2" face="Arial">The People's Summit is a chance for citizens interested in improving democracy in Canada to discuss their ideas and concerns with others, and find ways to take action. The event topics are government transparency, voter turnout,
campaign financing and party cooperation. The event is unique in that it gives ordinary people the opportunity to talk to others across party lines and debate issues of common concern, without the competition, partisanship and disrespect characteristic of
the the House of Commons. </font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="2" face="Arial">The Summit is the 5th event in the "Participate!" series, which aims to engage voters between elections. Surveys were sent to local supporters of CAPP and Fair Vote asking people to rank issues they wanted to discuss and ballots
were counted using Single Transferable Vote (a proportional system).</font></div>
<div> </div>
<div><font size="2" face="Arial">Everyone is welcome to attend. The event is free, wheelchair accessible, and refreshments are provided. Parties and community groups will have tables set up in the room and we welcome more.</font></div>
