It is a loss and particularly unfair in light of the fact that you were included in the Rogers & Manulife Community Health Research Group debates. If one is a registered candidate and have the 100 signatures required by Elections Canada to be on the ballot then one should be allowed in every debate. I am the only female candidate in this riding.</div><div>Well, the 100 Debates have set the threshold higher, for their Climate change debate, doing the opposite of giving everyone a fair chance as they don't let any party join who have no seat in parliament.</div><div>Meanwhile Patrick Bernier of the PPC (a one year old party) is partaking in the debates next week because they "might" get one or two seats whilst not having one right now. <br></div><div><br></div><div>This is in my view very undemocratic and catering to the first past the post system full blast. <br></div><div><br></div><div>Meanwhile here I am, with immediate climate change solutions, and standing for the marginalized among us, including of course the animals who have no voice. As a woman I naturally stand on the side of women's rights and issues. <br></div><div><br></div><div>But no, one more person (a woman) added on the five male candidates meeting would probably break the forum table. <br></div><div>As a previous NDP candidate Federally and Provincially in 2011 I participated in probably close to twenty all candidates meetings and no one was left out and we sat often with nine of us in a panel. With a good moderator this is absolutely no problem. Everyone was heard, people could ask questions and democracy was properly served.</div><div><br></div><div>Yes I am not only deeply disappointed but quite outraged about this, but I got nowhere with approaching the local organizers,"these are the rules".The PPC possibly getting seats is like betting in a casino. Who says the Animal Protection Party doesn't get a seat. We have seven in Holland (yes proportional representation).</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, thanks for listening.
