Thanks for your help, Alan. Please confirm with us that a member of the FVC
Waterloo Region Chapter can attend the Aug. 13th meeting of Donna's group.

Oops, time to stop lurking here ...

I'm actually a part of Donna's Cambridge MMP group.

They've had two meetings so far (I got to the first one but missed the
second). The next meetings are
scheduled for:

Monday, August 13th and Wednesday August 29th at Zehrs Community Room
upstairs at the South
Cambridge Mall from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

I've already asked them to be more inclusive then just Cambridge and
everybody was fine with that.

They seem to have hit the ground running. Waterloo FVC might find some of
their ideas useful.

I'll ask them if they would mind some of their emails be passed on to this
group and I'll suggest I
invite you guys to their next meeting. They have been growing their group
by asking everybody
to bring at least one friend to the next meeting so I don't think they will
be adverse to having you
guys attend the meetings.

/Alan

At the present time the next planning meeting is scheduled for August 21st
at 7 p.m. However, I think we should meet sooner if we are able to schedule
something with Donna's group (perhaps before the presentation on one of the
information nights?). I am willing to contact Donna but I would like to
know what I'm proposing to her. It sounds like Derek, Shannon, and Paul all
want to work with her group and are open to the idea of a merger. I still
favour the idea of a merger, but not because I think our group has a
monopoly on spreading the word about MMP as Paul asserted. I am so
aggravated with the silo mentality in this region. I would like to see the
MMP campaign members transcend that thinking and work together as one group
rather than perpetuate this idea of a great divide between Cambridge and
Kitchener-Waterloo. I'd like to have feedback from Kevin and Brian on this
question of the best way to respond to Donna's group before I contact her.
Care to share your thoughts, gentleman?
