 Exec Present: Kevin, Brian, Derek, Angela, Shannon

Others: Paul Nijjar, Katherine Fife.


 1.Outreach Strategy:

   -

   Katherine Fife suggestion - approach city and township councils and
   school boards
   -

      Waterloo Region District School Board
      -

      city councils will pretty much have to endorse
      -

      press release to local papers beforehand
       -

   Groups
   -

      Neighbourhood Associations: Kevin will be the point person for
      these
      -

         Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge
         -

         Paul has links to lists in the Wiki
          -

      Family Coalition Party – Derek
      -

      Guelph Civic League – Brian
      -

      I Believe in Kitchener – Paul
      -

      Waterlooians – Brian
      -

      Social Planning Council

      120 OCA booklets (32-page report) in box – order 600

      rumour has it that there is 60% soft support for electoral
      reform

      heavily influenced by media

      people want a debate, but not a shouting match
       -

   Opposition
   -

      Toronto Star is against
      -

      "Overthrow 150 years of tradition"
      -

      Witmers and the conservatives will be opposed (vocally)
      -

      Liberals will have neutral to lukewarm support
      -

      Main argument is about the party hacks
      -

         We already have party hacks – nominations rigged; MPPs toe
         party line
          -

   Media
   -

      Need heads up when things are published; write letters to
      editor.
      -

      Brian will collect past articles from Record
      -

      Derek will alert us when content comes up
      -

      Shannon will monitor the Cambridge Times
      -

      Brian will monitor the Waterloo Chronicle
      -

      Derek will check into the Woolwich Observer, Elmira Independent,

      -

      other townships: North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot -?
      -

      Brian will face off with Peter Woolstencroft tomorrow, 9-10pm
      -

      need to rotate people for each paper
      -

      Record will print once per two months for each person
      -

      will recruit a group to focus on letters
       -
