[fvc-wat-disc] Volunteer opportunities coming up

Hi everyone,

Just a note on the issue of disclosing party leanings when campaigning for
MMP: IT IS BETTER NOT TO DO IT. We want to emphasize that this campaign is
about improving democracy for everyone and people will be much more likely
to believe that message if they don't affiliate the speaker with any
particular party. In my own experience presenting, people really understand
MMP is a good system when they hear examples illustrating how the present
system cheats supporters of every party. By all means disclose your party
leanings if you have a group of people of the same persuasion as you.
However, if you have a mixed crowd or you're not certain of the leanings of
the crowd, best to take the route of examples from every party and leave
your own leanings a mystery.

By the way, thank you to George and Ari for volunteering for these speaking
duties.

Angela

Hello All,

I won't know for certain until at least tomorrow, but I may be able to go to

one or both of those dates at Eastwood, or wherever else I could present
during the day, next week.

I just finished a Master's in Political Science, and although I don't have
as much experience with it, I'm a frustrated small-party voter too.
(Although I'm not sure if we should advertise our leanings. Personally, I
tend not to, since this isn't a party issue--while small parties will
benefit, so will Liberal and Conservative voters in non-"swing" ridings.)

>>There are a few speaking/volunteer opportunities coming up soon:

>>0. A teacher at Eastwood Collegiate may be interested in getting us

>>1. We got ourselves into the SUNDANCe pow-wow at the University of
