On the FVC Chapter Leaders mailing list Martin Hyde encourages us to
participate in the Globe And Mail's poll on "What's the next discussion
Canada needs to have?"

As Martin says, if the government isn't elected with a fair vote,
there's no incentive for them to discuss the policy issues that are
really important to Canadians.

The Globe's poll numbers have changed a little; as I write this there
are 160 votes for "Changing the Electoral System", putting it in a firm
2nd place at 15%.

Subject: [FVCchapters] Electoral Reform Poll

Hello FairVote members,

The Globe and Mail has a poll today about which discussion topic they
should address next in their paper. Electoral Reform is tied for second
place (as I write this) at 13%. Climate Change and the Environment is in
first with 26%, and while I think the environment is important I think
we need a discussion on Electoral Reform much more (in part because to
get long term buy in on environmental issues Canadians as a whole need
to know they play a meaningful role in the making of those decisions).
So, if you have a chance, and are so inclined, go to
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/time-to-lead/multiculturalism/vote-whats-the-next-discussion-canada-needs-to-have/article1813783/

to cast your vote.

(My apologies to anyone who didn't want to receive this email.)

Martin
