I thought it was well articulated too, and made some sense, though I will always be less clear on details than all of you. Happy to hear more about it all soon!Mo

Thanks, Mo.

I thought I would be able to communicate my concerns, but it seems I've
failed.  But if I couldn't manage to do it in writing I for sure won't
be able to in discussion, and I agree, this is not the time.

Bob also tells me this is a general discussion list & not the right
mailing list for this discussion anyway, it should have gone to Fair
Vote Canada.  Sorry, I don't do mailing lists (or politics) well, so
best I leave you all to it.

Regards,
Laurel

Though I've only read and deleted thies discussion Emails for the past few
years I feel I have been properly informed. At this crucial point I feel I
can only say, "let's keep our focus folks."
Where I was the one to ask about specifics in piticular systems, I now
realize the importance of stressing the Princeable Values of whatever
system the committee decides. (Keeping in mind, whatever we eventually go
with will surely be better than what we have today)
This Email is in hopes to bring us back to a place where we remember that:
we need a solution, not more problems! It worries me when I see
the possibility of disbanding, not because we've succeeded but because we
suddenly can't agree, for example: the paper ballots only subsidiary,
although I see the potential problems that may arise from creating a
website to use to cast a ballot. I don't think that it could come to
fruition without proper testing and security checks and I have faith in
Canadians ability to accept or decline the idea based on results of the
testing of said online voting option. Imagine Canadian companies and
collages and universities, coming together to create an incredible version
of online voting software that we could than license to other countries.
I believe it is fair vote Canada's obligation to keep an open mind, and to
keep options on the table for Canadians to eventually make the final
decision (we can easily come to a conclusion without the need of a
referendum)
I would like to take the opportunity to incourage my fair vote friends to
focus as well as double their efforts on promoting the values of a
proportional system, it is frankly the bedrock principle we have been
working towards for all these years. We are so close. Thank you
to: Jennifer, Sharon, Bob, Laurel, etc. and everyone else for their
tireless efforts thus far. I am amazingly encouraged by the leadership that
you incredible individuals continue to provide, to get us through this our
final hours. Well done everyone! Thank you to all fair vote members on
behalf of all my fellow Canadians. You amazing individuals have
been leaders when our country has needed you the most, your commitment
although unfortunately underrated, shall hopefully never be forgotten.
Thanks again.
