Subject: [fvc-wat-disc] Funny ERRE story from Second City Toronto

Hey folks,

Friday, my wife and I went to Second City in Toronto for a show. The theme of the show was making fun of America <https://www.secondcity.com/shows/toronto/canada-thinking-mans-america/> (though in a modest and self-deprecating way, of course). Given how sad Sally and I are about what's going on over there, we figured we could use the laugh. (And, it was a very funny show, in case you were wondering)

One skit has an American coming over the border and being tested for being an asshole. And, of course, the American fails - he's a total asshole. But, at the end of the skit, he turns it around and asks what about all the asshole things in Canada. The very first example he gives is, "What about your PM, Trudeau - he promised electoral reform and broke that promise right away".

It was awesome seeing ERRE coming from the mouths of the comedians. It was ironically funny because I don't think more than 1 in 1000 Americans would actually know about ERRE or think it was the most asshole thing about the country. So, it was definitely a Canadian slam on Canada put in the mouth of an "American". But, any press, even ironic press, is a good thing if you ask me.

That was a bit of a long story, but I hope it makes your day a bit brighter. People are talking about the issue in all sorts of places, not just political gatherings.

Take care,

Jay
