[fvc-wat-disc] Video of Final NDP Leadership Debate in Vancouver

Hi everyone. We have two pages on the NDP:

This one is where anything significant they said about electoral reform
from the beginning of the race till now got written down. Doesn't include
today's debate and I need to update it with the link to Charlie Angus's
website since he's added electoral reform now:

<http://www.fairvote.ca/ndp-leadership-race/>*

This is the page with their answers to our questions:

<http://www.fairvote.ca/asked-ndp-candidates/>*

I don't know if we'll send these out to our whole list again. I want to,
but our email schedule is now all booked up with other things and it's a
fine balance not driving non-NDP on our list nuts with NDP stuff.

The gist of it is:

Caron has made the strongest commitment, and he led with this issue on his
own, it didn't take months or FVC signing people up to get there.

But the others have come along in the past month. In the (pretty unlikely)
scenario where the NDP win 170 seats they all say they'd bring in PR. The
real question is which ones will fight for this in a minority situation.

Caron's said from the beginning - no PR, no support of Liberal minority.

Angus has said yes he'd make an it "a key demand" in a minority, but he's
been pretty clear he thinks it won't happen unless NDP get a majority. He
doesn't even mention what he'd do in a minority situation on his website,
only in response to our questionnaire. But he made a special video to let
FVC supporters know he's "got our back." :)

Ashton says it would be a condition of "any partnership." A formal
partnership with the Liberals and Niki Ashton seems a bit far-fetched so
I'm not really clear on how high priority this would be for her outside a
formal partnership.

Singh has got nothing on his website. He refers to electoral reform as a
priority verbally but no details. We heard he told someone informally he
thinks there needs to be a referendum. But in Kitchener he said he's going
to release a platform like Caron's. In response to our questionnaire, he
said he'd have to consult with his caucus about whether to make PR a
condition of supporting a minority. So, we're still waiting.
