[fvc-wat-disc] A letter for the Planet ... not PR but of equal importance

Dear Editor,

In today’s televised speech Trudeau asserted federal authority and
‘National Interest’ to proceed with Kinder Morgan expansion. I assert the
right of Earth's citizens to an unpolluted sea and ‘International
Interest’. This dirty bitumen sinks. All the king's horses and all the
king's men can't clean a spill from the bottom of the sea and one will
happen. Bitumen with its toxic mix of solvent should never cross waterways.
Refine in Alberta (best) or ship to the Gulf of Mexico via XL. A spill on
land is not desirable but it can be cleaned up.

Trudeau offers expansion to Tar Sands companies without a corresponding
requirement of them to lower their carbon footprint.

Why not: "OK we will allow you to increase production but only if you meet
your share of the Paris Accords. Produce your steam using safe nuclear
power or find another environmentally friendly way to generate steam. Then
and only then will you be allowed to expand production."
