Apropos, I believe: 
CBC today aired an environmental group saying that they are suing Douglas Trump---er, Ford—in an Ontario court, where there is no “notwithstanding clause.” 
The ignorance of callers to CBC is sometimes appalling.  They don’t understand that courts exist partly and precisely bec. the power of those elected figures need to be monitored and sometimes checked, as is the case with Boss Ford.
