Despite setbacks in Ontario, PEI, and BC, electoral reform has 
nevertheless become 'mainstream' and evidence seems to indicate that 
Quebec's CAQ provincial government really will implement mixed-member 
proportional representation they ran on.

Several factors indicate that Legault’s government really will implement 
mixed-member proportional representation.

One of the biggest signs that we may really be close to seeing PR is 
that the political insiders running the BC 'No' Campaign, coming off a 
referendum victory in that province last year, is keeping their doors 
open

to help kill PR in other provinces. The political establishment appears 
to be concerned: they know that if PR is adopted in one province and the 
others see that the sky doesn't fall, it might just catch on and spread.

CUSJ has long supported (and campaigned for) fairer voting systems 
provincially and federally.
