I also have to disagree with Cathy. We were there to ask for two specific
things (an NDP critic for Democratic Reform and a PR strategy committee)
and 5 minutes into the meeting she said "I'd love to champion that in the
caucus for you".

Later in the meeting, she very strongly implied that she knew the decision
to do it (at least to appoint a critic) had already been made by party
leadership and that there would be an announcement in the next week or so.

The only reservation I heard from her is that she didn't want to be the
critic personally. Other than that, I don't know how we could have had a
much more positive response.
