[fvc-wat-disc] Please show up Thursday at 6 PM for a picture!

Hi everyone!

As you may know, we're doing a social media day on December 12 showing
*pictures
of people holding up holiday cards for Justin Trudeau  on Zoom calling for
a National Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform*. LIke the one here
<https://www.fairvote.ca/cardphotos/>. We'll be tagging @JustinTrudeau with
the pictures and using the hashtag #MakeYourVoiceHeard.

We have about 15-20 groups who are doing a picture in advance for us that
we can share on that day and now* there's a date for a Waterloo Region
photo! Thursday December 10, 6 PM. *

Thank you Colin for stepping forward to host the meeting.

Please show up :). It's really easy and fun.

*Here's all you do:*

1) Find a holiday card around your house. ANY CARD. (If you get creative
we'll take a picture of your special card, but seriously any holiday card
you have around the house will do).

2) If you know anyone else to ask to join the meeting - ASK THEM! Your
partner. Your dog (seriously- pets are good in pictures). A friend of yours
in an EDA. Another group you're involved with. Etc. Have a friend who would
join but is not in Waterloo Region? Just ask them to come. It doesn't
matter. We are also a tourist destination ;)

3) Send your card to Trudeau in Ottawa (postage free). If you already sent
one via the online ordering <https://fairvotecanada.good.do/card/Trudeau/>
that FVC is doing, just put it back in your card box after the meeting.
This whole thing is symbolic, it's to put* HUMAN FACES on the over 8000
people* now who have sent cards to Trudeau via FVC!

I'm finding for this particular activity, the mass mailers do not work at
all to get people out to the meetings (I can explain why but it doesn't
matter).

What works is *people personally asking other people to please come out!* I
can't ask you all individually because I'm buried in card-related
mailers...😂.

But here's a fun challenge for Waterloo. Because* in years past you've had
the most active team in the whole country!* The group that often gets the
most people out for any single activity like this is Kootenay Columbia.
They have a warm and tight knit progressive community of PR supporters
there. 20 showed up for their photo. As usual, they beat Victoria (and
everywhere else) so now Rick (Victoria) owes Ann (Nelson) a beer. I don't
think we can get 20 in Waterloo Region but let's aim high just in case 😁

We'll also have videos from 3 MPs that day to share expressing their
support for the cards going to Trudeau, and we're doing this in parallel
with our UK ally, Make Votes Matter!

*Whether it's 4 or 20, let's get some smiling faces from Waterloo Region
and show Trudeau that yes, people across the country care about this!*
