Fair Vote Canada writes the YES side in the Toronto Star's debate about proportional representation!

 Dear David Dirks,

Last week, I opened my inbox to find this message from the Toronto Star: 


"Would someone from Fair Vote Canada be willing to write for our Saturday Debate feature? 

The question is: Is it finally time for electoral reform?

You would be writing the Yes side."


Of course our answer was YES!

Although the Star debate was triggered by the Ontario election, our article and the democratic principle applies to all of Canada: If a party gets 39% of the vote, they should get about 39% of the seats. 

A strong majority of Canadians support PR. 

Canadians want a political system where our voices are heard and our political parties work together to tackle the big challenges of our times. 

The evidence is clear: proportional representation works.

For years, those who crave the power they get from winner-take-all landslides have been spreading misinformation and whipping up fear about proportional representation.
