Does "first-past-the-post" voting frustrate you?
Are you curious about proportional representation?
Did you know that we could achieve proportional representation for Ontario
this October?
We at Fair Vote Canada invite you to learn more about electoral reform by
attending an upcoming Information Night. We'll talk about some flaws with
our current voting system, how elections might work under a different
system, and our big chance to vote for positive change in an Ontario
referendum this October 10. Then we'll have some open discussion to answer
other questions about electoral reform you might have.
We'll be holding Information nights on the second Tuesday of every month
from now until October: April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14,
September 11 and October 9. Each session will be self-contained and will
assume no prior knowledge of electoral reform, so you can attend any one
of them and get a good sense of what is going on. This is also a great
opportunity to invite your friends and family to learn about these issues.
The information nights will be held at the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of
Social Work building in downtown Kitchener (120 Duke Street West, behind
Kitchener City Hall). Each session will begin at 7:00pm. You can find maps
and directions by visiting our chapter's website:

It is no exaggeration to say that the decisions we Ontarians make over the
next few months will shape the future of democracy in this country. It's
time to get informed, get active, and make positive change.
For more information about Information Nights or Fair Vote Canada's other
activities you can contact Paul (pnijjar at sdf.lonestar.org) or Derek

P.S. We are also happy to arrange additional information sessions. If you
belong to a group (school, work, church group, community group,
neighbourhood association, riding association...) that might be interested
in learning more about voting reform, please contact us and we can arrange
to have a speaker give a presentation to your group. Also get in touch if
you would like to attend an information night, but cannot make any of the
ones we have scheduled.
P.P.S. Please help spread the word by sending this announcement forward.
