[fvc-wat-announce] A favour or two for FVC

Hello Everyone,

Hope your Labour Day long weekend is going well, weather not withstanding!

As you know on Sept 16th, we and the KC & KWNDP are sponsoring Craig
Scott's stop in Waterloo Region on his Democratic Reform Tour with a walk,
a rally & talk to celebrate UN Democracy Week.  Afterward everyone is
invited to join us at the Duke of Wellington to continue the discussion.
 The poster  for the event is attached and we are hoping that you can
forward to anyone that might be interested.

FVC-WR has two amendments to our chapter's constitution that have be
brought forward to be addressed.  We would like to take a few minutes at
the Duke on the 16th to address the proposal and have a vote on them.  So,
if you are member could you take a moment to review the amendments below
and come out to to the Duke to vote on them.

Amendment 1)

To provide continuity on the Executive, the positions for two Co-chairs,
Secretary, and Treasurer will be two-year terms, with one Co-Chair and
Secretary alternating with the other Co-Chair and Treasurer.
Members-At-Large will continue to serve one-year terms.

There will be an election using STV for two two-year term Executives,
followed by an election for up to three one-year term Executives (the
Members-At-Large), after which the Executive decide amongst themselves
how to divide the duties.

And, on Sunday, September 22 starting at noon we are having an envelope
stuffing get together.  We could use a few helping hands to stuff  1500
fundraising letters.  Food will be provided, you will get a FVC Tshirt and
a chance to talk politics.  What could be better!  The location is
currently being booked and we will get back to you on that.  It would be
great if you can join us, please let me know.
