Hi KW group,
Contrary to the minutes, Cambridge still has about $180 available in the
kitty.
As we have been making liberal use of your campaign materials please
consider the money available for your own use. (after all this is an Ontario
wide referendum)
Donna has suggested that a mobile sign in your area would be a good idea so
use it up.

Fair Vote Canada - Waterloo Region chapter
Volunteer meeting, Sept. 22, 2007, 3 pm
Central Park pavilion in Preston, Cambridge, Ontario.

Present: Jacob, Rick, Angela, Derek, Brian, Shannon, Josh, Bryn, George.

1. Agenda approved.

2. Minutes from Sept. 6, 2007 approved.

3. Financial Report

(financial statement in Excel is available on request)

- statement had $500 surplus.  Jacob announced another $150 donation,
for a $650 total.
- still waiting to hear from two union locals (CAW Local 1066 and
OSSTF Local 24)
- Brian spent $72 on the coloured flyers for the rally.
- unsure about speaker cost associated with last week's panel (Angela
will talk to Paul)
- Cambridge group has raised $730 which has been spent.

- Discussed various advertising options (large lawn signs, mobile signs,
radio).
- Decided that mobile signs were the best use of money -- ordering 3 x
$110 = $330
- Remaining funds will be used for reimbursing out-of-pocket expenses

4. Literature inventory and requirements
   a) brochures - 2000 of blue brochures on order; people's surpluses
will be shifted where needed; OCA white brochures are pretty much
gone.
   b) display boards - Josh needs the one Donna has back for the
concourse next week

5. Farmer's Market
   - spots pretty much filled -- just need two short shifts next
Saturday and Sunday
   - Shannon can help Marcia early on Saturday
   - Brian may be able to help on Sunday (will contact Kevin)

6. Canvassing and Literature drop
   - going well
   - areas of Kitchener are getting covered (such as Forest Heights)
   - Josh's team is concentrating on Kitchener-Waterloo area
      - this Sunday, they're going to Laurelwood
   - Bob is working on Elmira
   - Adam is working on New Hamburg

7. Campus organizing update
   - Laurier - debate October 3; display in concourse next week
   - UW - one more debate September 26; otherwise campaign not really
happening

8. All-candidates' meetings
   - Actually invited to SPC co-sponsored meetings this Monday and Tuesday
   - Guerrilla distribution working at other meetings :)

9. Media strategy
   - letters - there's been a lot of negative letters; need more responses
   - TV - Brian is still doing appearances (A-Channel next week)
      - TVO is hosting a forum next Thursday -- please call in
   - Radio - has had some good coverage - Angela is still contacting
George and Tara

10. Referendum night gathering
   - several possibilities were discussed:
      - Donna's house in Cambridge
      - Kevin's house in Kitchener
      - Pub at Laurier
      - Pub close to Laurier
   - ongoing discussion

11. Meeting adjourned at 4pm
