Good op-ed in today’s Vancouver Sun by Andrew Coyne.
Electoral reform finally coming to Canada and not a moment too soon.
It focuses on the number of municipal elections using or voting on ranked ballot.
He points out that it’s not really proportional but is encouraged that it could lay the groundwork for other than FPTP in all elections.
He also refers to the BC referendum and the fact that it won 58% in 2005 and a majority in all but two ridings.
His timing for this column is intentional and I suspect that, even as an Ontario but national columnist, he is well regarded.

Hi Jenn,

That is very interesting... sometimes surprising support pops up in odd places.  Don't know if Brian Bourke is a fairvote supporter but we could reach out to him and see if he is interested in interviewing us about electoral reform, Trudeau's broken promise etc..

Yesterday my Mike told me that the day before (so this is Oct 17 this happened) he was in the car listening to 570News on his way home and the host was talking elections and said his biggest disappointment was with Trudeau unpromising electoral reform after the whole ERRE, mailed questionnaire, etc.  So I looked up the host at that time and it was Brian Bourke.  Now, Mike could be completely wrong that a) it was the host speaking b) he was listening to 570News.

Does anyone know Brian Bourke as a Fair Voter??
