Cathy’s letter is excellent and Jenn’s suggestions and changes are too.
The central focus needs to be a Citizens’ Assembly, not just for electoral reform but climate change action and possibly other major issues.
Adding the Green Party support is important but it might be good to emphasize the support for PR including 80% of OECD countries, 88% of expert witnesses and 87% of those attending public forums.
In other words, there is support coming from members and supporters of all political parties, including some Conservatives.
It should also be added that the many developed democracies that use some form of PR have greater stability, a longer term perspective on policy, easier consensus, better economic performance and fiscal responsibility, and better results on climate change action, environmental issues, income inequality, health, inclusivity, and many issues that many of the local organizations work toward.
I know we want to limit the length of the letter but we also need to focus on the common interests of the various groups that encourage working together.
It wouldn’t hurt to include the PR benefits of higher voter turnout, no need for strategic voting, and that every voter knows their vote will count toward representation in parliament.

At our last discussion group meeting, we offered to revise David's previous letter to other grass roots groups, to see if anyone is interested in combining our efforts to further our causes.
