One idea about broken promise day is to post asking for nominations for political candidates (any party).
Alexendria Ocasio Cortez ran for congress as a result of being nominated by a family member.

I got an e-mail recently reminding me that the nomination deadline for candidates for the federal election for the Kitchener Center Green Party is March 3rd. I don't know about the nomination process of other parties. Mike Morrice was a pretty good candidate. In my opinion, all communities need to be on a constant lookout for a better political candidate than the one they currently have - if only because political elections are mostly a popularity contest.
