Good Morning Everyone,

So many thanks to everyone who attended last night's panel discussion on
The Fair Elections Act. A written synopsis and a video of the evening is
in progress & we will get that to you as soon as it's available.

One of the questions that came up at the meeting was when is Elections
Canada's report on the 2011 robocall scandal expected? By coincidence the
report is out this morning. Below is an article from ipolitcs which might
be of interest to those of you following the scandal.

Our debate on the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) with
Stephen Woodworth & Angelo DiCaro is coming up on May 1st. It will be an
excellent opportunity to examine and debate this critical issue. Please
spread the word about the event. The poster is attached at the very bottom
of this email.

Wishing you well,

Sharon Sommerville

Elections Canada has completed its robocalls investigation, concluding
that it can find "no reasonable grounds" for finding that the law was
broken in the May 2011 federal general election.

The report says the investigation "touches only briefly on robocalls in the
electoral district of Guelph, which are the subject of a separate
investigation."

"Investigators found no evidence of a link between calls from the
Conservative Party seeking support and reported calls to electors
misdirecting them," says the report.
