Your insert is good, but I would change it as follows:

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE REFERENDUM?

On OCTOBER 10th, 2007, Ontarians will vote in a referendum alongside the
provincial election, to answer the question
       "What voting system should Ontario use for its elections?"
       Our choices are to keep our current system of First Past the Post, or
to choose a new system, called Mixed Member Proportional (MMP). MMP will
have two main changes. The first is that we will vote twice - once for your
preferred local representative, and once for your preferred party. The local
candidate you vote for need not belong to the party you vote for. By adding
39 list seats to the Ontario Legislature, the total number of seats awarded
to each party will reflect the total percentage of votes that party receives
province-wide.
       On October 10, 2007, a vote for MMP is a vote for more choice, fairer
results and stronger representation.

Faculty of Social Work (behind Kitchener City Hall) on the 2nd Tuesday of
every month, at 7:00 p.m., for an information night.

I know I rewrote a lot of things - but it's important that we make sure
people know that it's not a Yes/No referendum - they must choose between the
two systems.

Feel free to change anything in what I suggested. I won't be offended in the
least.
